Introduction
Established in 2015, the department is divided into two specialties: Foot and Ankle Surgery and Hand Surgery. The Foot and Ankle Surgery Division filled a significant gap in this specialty within Shenzhen. Over the years, the department has achieved remarkable advancements in clinical diagnostic and treatment techniques, reaching leading levels in South China and across the nation.

•A Shenzhen Municipal Key Clinical Specialty
•An Education Base of the Chinese Medical Association Foot and Ankle Division
•A core unit of the National Orthopedics and Sports Rehabilitation Clinical Medicine Research Center
•A designated center of the National Health Commission’s Capacity Building and Continuing Education Program
The department boasts a highly qualified professional team. It currently has 10 physicians, including:
•3 senior physicians (chief level)
•1 associate senior physician
•1 PhD holder
•9 master’s degree holders
•1 postdoctoral researcher in the scientific research team
The nursing team consists of 20 staff members, including:
•2 chief nurses
•10 senior nurses
•8 nurses
In 2017 and 2023, the department successfully passed evaluations for Shenzhen’s “Three Renowned Programs” in healthcare, introducing the Foot and Ankle Surgery Team led by Professor Tang Kanglai from the First Affiliated Hospital of the Army Medical University and the Hand Surgery Team led by Professor Tian Wen from Beijing Jishuitan Hospital. The department currently includes one Shenzhen high-level talent.
